What You'll Learn
The presenters will offer a brief overview of recent changes to the Americans with Disabilities Act and its regulations as they affect people who are Deaf, Deaf family members, and others who use sign language for effective communication. The presenters will offer suggestions for techniques for asserting the right to effective communication, and suggestions for ways interpreters may address questions about the right to effective communication. Participants will be encouraged to share experiences and recommendations for asserting the right to effective communication and supporting people who are Deaf in asserting this right.
