There are many different resources available for anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in interpreting. EIS specifically recommends:

U.S. Interpreting Programs
EIS highly recommends interpreting educational programs at:
- Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.
- National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NITD) in Rochester, NY
- Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts

The higher your education level and field experience:
- The more ready you will be to take your Certification Test
- The more capable you are to perform in diverse arenas (i.e. legal, medical & religious interpreting)
