Mentoring

Often during our first months/years working as a professional interpreter, we have the desire to find a safe place to receive guidance on the many issues we face daily while on assignment.

Empire Interpreting Service has developed a group of certified Interpreters who are willing to meet once a week to provide systematic mentoring to those new Interpreters.

We match up mentor and mentee based on different criteria such as geographic location and specific areas of interpreting. There is a contract signed by both mentor and mentee and a time/place is agreed upon to meet weekly. The contracts are flexible and can run as long or short as the parties agree to.

Empire’s role is to facilitate the match of Interpreters, provide materials, and if needed, provide space for them to meet. We also provide mentoring training if needed.

For more information, or to request a mentor, please contact either our Homer or Syracuse offices.
